Rebecca Stanley
Eternal Return¹
2014,
multi-media video installation,
dimensions variable.

I focus on using the body as both the subject and object in my work. I focus on carefully choreographed investigations of time, repetition, control, and feeling. My work is typically focused on the body’s encounter with space, as well as the emotional and physical effects of time. The work is a celebration of fusion between body, image and movement, and an insight into the formlessness of dance. I draw inspiration from the theatrics of the stage, and the glossy hyper reality they create.

  1. I enjoyed your videos the body positions suggest very strong emotions in both videos. I really like the use of the black background in contrast with the floor it creates quite a dynamic effect. The music in 'Fear Is When I Fall' is suspensful and climatic. I thoroughly enjoyed your work you have captivated my imagination.
